Community Choirs – Fawkner & Pascoe Vale

Major Minor Community Choir (Fawkner)

Running on a Thursday night at 95 Major Rd, the ‘Major Minors’ as we are affectionately known, is Fawkner’s local community choir, that has been meeting since late 2021.

Led by Phil Hudson from Black Sheep Music and run under the auspice of Fawkner Neighbourhood House, the choir is inclusive and lots of fun. MMCC members enjoy a diversity of styles, ranging from the Cuban tune ‘Guantanamera’ and Sufi song ‘Asalaam Aleikhum’ to 60’s pop classic ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’ and  Miley Cyrus’ 2023 pop smash hit ‘Flowers’.

We perform regularly around the northern suburbs of Melbourne; including recent gigs at 2022 and 2023 Fawkner Festa, the 2023 Victorian Networks Interfaith Festival, the  2023 Merri-bek City Council awards night, both at Coburg Town Hall and at Melton Shire Council. If you would like the Major Minors to perform at your event, please contact us.

Meanwhile, feel free to check us out on Thursday nights during term time from 6.30 till 8.00 pm!  No previous experience necessary and no auditions, all are welcome to give us a go!
